IGNORANCE?

As late as 1955, black people were not allowed to ride in the front of a bus in the South. Does that seem silly to you? How could it have possibly seemed right, or even important, to white people in the first half of the twentieth century? Were they somehow more ignorant than you? Do you think you have any beliefs that people 50 or 100 years from now will think you must have been really stupid to believe? Or are all the silly beliefs finally weeded out?

Its easy enough to think of all the bad 'ignorant' things that existed years ago but, its not so easy to think of problems like racial discrimination on such a scale now a days. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen anymore but the state has made a choice and called it 'wrong', made it ilegal. I am sure that in 50 or 100 years time there will be plenty of beliefs that people will think stupid. Maybe though this time these beliefs will be more of a spiritual nature? More than ever before people are abandoning thier traditional religions and either, trying to forget about it all together or, taking another different belief system that simply wouldn't of been there for them 50 years ago. What, I ask if this rate of abandonment carries on will happen to our world religions if 50 -100 years time, will everyone seem them as silly and a waste of time?
